Whether you start in the summer, fall, or spring—New Student Orientation is ready to welcome you and prepare you for a successful transition to the University of Georgia. All incoming students, both first-year and transfer, have a mandatory orientation requirements to be a student at the University of Georgia. These requirements include

Students must complete the UGA 101 modules prior to attending their in-person, orientation session. First-year students will attend a 2-day orientation session and transfer students will attend a 1-day orientation session. Students who are taking classes in the Maymester must attend the May 15th session and those who are taking classes in a Summer term (extended term, thru term, short session I, or short session II) must attend the June 7th session.

Students will receive a message from their academic advisor to their UGA email account during their orientation session with their academic advising appointment details. Students do NOT need to reach out to schedule an appointment. After meeting with their academic advisor during their in-person orientation session and fulfilling all other class registration requirements (hyperlink “class registration requirements” to https://reg.uga.edu/enrollment-and-registration/holds/registration-holds/), a student will be able to register for courses.
